We made our way from Sandbanks Provincial Park in the morning and rode against the wind a bit for about 11 miles or so. We reached Picton, which is the largest city on the island of Prince Edward County. Even then, it had a population of 4,000. There was a nice coffee shop in the downtown area that we were able to stop at and we also took some time to restock groceries. Leaving there was a 5 mile climb up to Glenora, where we caught the ferry literally just as it was leaving. The second we rolled on they closed the gate and we were crossing the river. Black clouds over head showed a storm on the horizon. After landing back on mainland Canada, we hid for a bit under an awning while rain stopped and started very haphazardly. We started down the road, but we were stopped again a few miles in because of rain and a very nice woman let us hang out on her porch to cover ourselves.
Then back on the road a little bit more and we find this perfect “stealth” camping spot, next to a power plant.
In the morning we pedaled into the small town of Bath for a breakfast spot at their local cafe. Then into Kingston for more poutine and exploration. The city was nice and there was plenty to see. We hung out down by the waterfront at a park for quite awhile into the evening. I jumped and flipped off stuff, while Sermin painted the lakescape. There was a very grand government building behind us there as well.
We rode over the bridge and found another “stealthy” spot on the waterfront. Canada has been really good about finding improvised places to sleep on short notice. In the morning a Tim Hortons was nearby and we watched this old man on his motorcycle looking so proud and “shooting the shit” with the locals. Canadian Forces are few, but proud.
That day was our ride into Brockville, where we had heard that there was a great park that charged cheaper rates for camping, and we certainly could use the shower. We left the tent and stuff to explore Brockville a bit and then returned at night with some snacks.
These makes me want to hit the road and start traveling again 🙂

Thanks for documenting your journey here. I especially enjoyed the image of Vince practicing his parkour while Sermin painted. You two make a great team. I enjoy reading these dispatches from the road, so keep them coming! Wishing you dry weather and safe travels. Keep us posted!
